a golden afternoon at the ORNAMENTAL GARDENS


This fall, I had the joy of photographing Andrea, her husband, and their three lovely girls at the Ornamental Gardens — one of Ottawa’s most magical spots when the leaves begin to turn. The air was crisp but gentle, filled with that unmistakable autumn scent of fallen leaves and blooming late-season flowers. The gardens glowed in shades of gold, amber, and soft blush, wrapping the family in the most beautiful, natural backdrop.

Playful Moments and Warm Connections



The girls brought endless laughter to the session — twirling in their cozy sweaters, chasing one another between the trees, and pausing every so often for a quick cuddle with mom or dad. Andrea and her husband shared quiet smiles watching them, the kind of look that says this is what it’s all about. Between the crunch of leaves and bursts of giggles, we captured the perfectly imperfect moments — hand-holding, tickle fights, and those soft, candid in-betweens that say more than any posed portrait ever could.

A Family Story in the Glow of Fall



As the sun began to dip lower, that golden hour glow wrapped around them like a warm blanket. The last frames of the day were filled with pure love — a family walking hand in hand through a tunnel of maple trees, the girls’ laughter echoing softly in the breeze. It was one of those sessions that reminds me why fall family photos are so special: not just for the colors, but for the cozy, connected feeling they bring — a little reminder that these are the moments we’ll want to hold onto forever.
